Maria “Pita” Escoto is a former graduate from the University of St. Thomas where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in both Psychology and Theology. She is a devout Catholic and lives it out with passion. Her faith and spiritual life are of utmost importance. Pita is a first-generation child here and loves being a Mexican-American embracing both the glories of ketchup and hot sauce. In her newfound freedom from academic studies, Pita enjoys being with family, friends, watching an embarrassing amount of Netflix, and collecting as many Funko Pops as possible. Her version of a “good day” involves lots of Jesus, some Dr. Pepper, and playing the uke. Freshly “adulting,” Pita is excited to be with the Catholic Newman Center at UH to meet all the cool Catholic kids! Go coogs!
